2019 Champion Brooke Baker

2019 Tournament

The Seaforth Country Classic began in 2008 when it hosted the first of four Canadian Tour, now MacKenzie Tour - PGA Tour Canada, tournaments. Following these successful events it was decided to host an “Open” to continue to support aspiring golfers. The 2018 Seaforth Country Classic  took place August 2nd - 4th.

It was a unique format in which 36 Professional Men from the

Great Lakes Tour  and  36 Professional women competed simultaneously for two separate purses each with a guaranteed first prize of $7.500.
Since inception we have raised over $130,000 to support medical charities in our community.

2020 Sponsors

The 2019 Seaforth Country Classic held up to its billing with a great field of professional golfers competing over two days and the winner in both the male and female divisions taking home a cheque for $5,000.00!  The weather co-operated and the fans watched great golf both days.  In the end the winner of the trophy and cheque in the male division was Russell Budd from Toronto, playing on the Great Lakes Tour, who finished ten under par with scores of 62-68.  It was a great finish with Lucas Kim and Branson Ferrier just two shots back at –8.  The ladies put on a great show with defending champion, Selena Costabile, from Thornhill, battling it out with Brooke Baker from Oklahoma.  Baker prevailed winning on the 18th hole and a final score of nine under par. Baker's  67 in the final round along with her first round of 69 allowed her to nip Costabile by one.  Baker gave a gracious thank you in front of a good crowd of spectators.  Low amateur honours went to John Kim from Toronto finishing at plus two with rounds of 70 72. Several Seaforth members entered in the amateur division and can hold their heads high competing with some stellar young pros.  Following the presentations to both Budd and Baker a cheque for over $5,000 was presented to the Tanner Steffler Foundation which is helping to create a culture of change in Mental Health, Addiction & Wellness services for youth and their families in Huron County.  The executives of the Great Lakes Tour as well as those at Seaforth Golf Club and the Seaforth Country Classic were delighted with the event and look forward to a hosting again in 2020 when Seaforth Golf Club will be celebrating its 60th anniversary.
